Hi everybody,

it seems that its not possible to create a normal log file from psexec..

Have somebody a idea why?Or what its missing here?

Script run perfect and test.log will created, but log is empty

release>psexec.exe \\stchps426 -u .\etrust -p
etrust01 -e -f -n 6 -c "i:\adobe reader7.0.exe" >test.log

Good evening, Raphael.

I guess this thread is about another aspect of the same task that you reported in your other thread: PSEXEC/ Copy File to D:\

In order to catch all (text) messages generated in the course of a psexec run, you may try this commandline:
Quote psexec.exe \\stchps426 -u .\etrust -p etrust01 -e -f -n 6 -c "i:\adobe reader7.0.exe" >test.log 2>&1
This will catch stdout and stderr to test.log on the local machine in the current folder.

Yet, in the case of installers which are running silently not too many messages may be written to stdout or stderr. Rather, the installers will write a dedicated logfile on the remote machine \\stchps426.

Good night,
Paul
