Simply delete it. Remove any shortcuts from Program Files->Startup and entries from Windows Scheduler. Reinstate desired wallpaper.

If you want a proper uninstall, you also need to deletes the registry keys. Create a registry file uninstall.reg (or call it what u want) containing the following text :

REGEDIT4
[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.bgi]
[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\BGInfo.Config.1]
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Winternals\BGinfo]
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\.bgi]
[-HKEY_LOCAl_MACHINE\Software\Classes\.bgi]
[-HKEY_LOCAl_MACHINE\Software\Classes\BGInfo.Config.1]
[-HKEY_USERS\Software\Winternals\BGinfo]

Then execute the command "regedit /s uninstall.reg".

If you changed the "Desktops"->"Logon Desktop for Console Users" to "Update this Wallpaper" then you need to set this registry value to "(None)":

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop\Wallpaper

Thanks Funkter

This was a little different on my XP Pro system - the BGinfo folder was in the Sysinternals folder of the registry. Here's the version i used.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.bgi]
[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\BGInfo.Config.1]
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sysinternals\BGinfo]
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\.bgi]
[-HKEY_LOCAl_MACHINE\Software\Classes\.bgi]
[-HKEY_LOCAl_MACHINE\Software\Classes\BGInfo.Config.1]
[-HKEY_USERS\Software\Sysinternals\BGinfo]

This is a nice tool. The only thing is that it should have an uninstall option.
