Interrupt storms / high numbers of interrupts are generally hardware problems, or driver problems. If you've got the latest drivers, perhaps you can go back a version or two? Otherwise, it would seem that a different wireless device would be in order.

Hello. I run a 1.8GHz machine with Windows XP Professional. I use a D-Link WUA-2340 wireless USB adapter (rather not explain why, it's complicated) and recently it's been creating massive, frequent interrupt storms. Here's a typical situation: I surf for 10 minutes, and then an interrupt storm occurs, taking up 100% of my CPU. It doesn't stop until I unplug. Replugging only solves the problem temporarily.
I have the latest drivers for the device, and my computer is free of viruses/spyware. How do I stop these interrupt storms? Or will I have to use a different wireless device? Edited by TerryX - 13 June 2007 at 9:27pm |
