I'm afraid I don't understand this comment - usually when a program crashes (and after Dr. Watson kicks in) one is not able to interact with it, either via the main UI or via any task bar icons the program may have.
Whan I was able to recreate the crash with PE 11.00, the procexp.exe process terminated, and there was no UI to interact with (as the process was of course dead).

Sorry M, on my machines, after PE had crashed, using File - Exit accomplished squat. Which is exactly why I had to resort to the task bar icon AKA activity icon. Are you saying that you could actually recreate the crash and THEN use File and Exit? If not, and if this secondary problem is not fixed, it will reappear if and when a future version of PE for some reason crashes. Looking forward to that ...
![]() Anyway I've been a bit busy, sorry for late reply, I'll try the fix ASAP.
Thank You.

Hello, xanbr.
As molotov announced and as ivan confirmed, the "crash on columns sets" bug has been fixed by Process Explorer v11.01. Karl Edited by Karlchen - 11 September 2007 at 1:50pm |

Hi xanbr,
The problem of PE crashing when applying a column set (CTRL+1), as you described, has already been reported, and I strongly suspect (
How do you expect to be able to close the program? File | Exit works, as does right-clicking the notification icon and choosing "Close Process Explorer". AFAIK, this hasn't changed from the previous version...
If you have more details (Dr. Watson logs, Event Log entries, etc...) about the other crashes you experienced, please report them.

I've used PE since forever and have NEVER seen this problem before: PROBLEM RECREATE: Just to be on the safe side and to dodge any wise guy comments, I started by REMOVING the registry key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sysinternals\Process Explorer". So to conclude, I frickin' HATE v11.0! But I guess this is what we can expect from the future, now that it's a genuine MS product :( Edited by xanbr - 08 September 2007 at 2:12pm |
