It appears that Awareness Technologies is a complete hoax. Every single new version is supposedly 'invisible' and none appear to be so. I have V.4.0 and it is deleted by Trend Micro Internet Security 2008 on install. I don't have 5.0, but I suspect it will continue that reputation. As a side note, they charge for an upgrade from 4.0 to 5.0...

My review(contrary to popular belief):
Webwatcher is a complete scam. Don't buy It ever!! Like I heard on some other review "STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY OR ANYTHING ELSE AWARENESS TECHNOLOGIES SELLS!"

yes when you click on the about tab , they ARE Awearness Technologies, not seperate.

It does appear their Sonar technology is even better. More for corporate.
Claim to be able to monitor an employee computer, even if they are NOT connected to the network.

http://www.awarenesstechnologies.com/

When you are at webwasher home page and click the  Law Enforcement /     Surveillance Softwar
it brings up Sonar. Now I know why my company is closing my position and asking me to relocate LOL

TeranceH, Did you buy webwasher to test?

Sounds almost as good as rustock c Clap

Deo is indeed correct ... it is not detected by any of the majors.

McAfee seems to be disabled to the point where you may download the updates, but it isn;t using them when it scans through your files.

Microsoft is blinded by the classification as a monitoring program.  It isn;t a monitoring program when it features the redirection and obfuscation techniques.  And why on earth would a mother want to STEALTH Monitor their children???  Wouldn't you want the child to know it's there to avoid a 'situation' by using their judgement? or not know it's there and get caught and realize their parent's didn't trust them enough to be upfront about monitoring them.

Symantec... It would seem from documents I have read on the web that they are actually partnered with Awareness Technologies to protect the data during and after it is stolen from your computer.  I haven't read their license but I thought they were protecting ME on MY Computer.  Are they bailing on the security they promised me to secure MY DATA for the criminal who has stolen MY DATA while under the feigned protection of Symantec Security???  While I guess they still are securing MY DATA, they just are now securing it for me AND the criminal who hijacked my computer.

Kaspersky... comes the closest to detecting it because it report the program's behavior.  BUT you have to ramp up their security and then get nagged about every little function going to the web.  Oh yea, and you will quite likely NOT be able to get to their site and download the program.  But if you have a friend download it, rename it, and pick it up via FTP, you can get around that little problem.

The higher level forensic programs also do not detect the program.  This is proudly and loudly confirmed by the tech support guys.

IceSword helped a bit at seeing it run and seeing how it is running, but wasn't effective in removal.

Their claim of the software being invisible and not detected by AVAS is credible.

Hi C

I'm kind of sceptical about claims by the vendor(Advertising hype) and your techs responce is not surprising....admitting weakspot would potentially= lost $'s

Mind you check this page>>>

Even many popular anti-spyware and anti-virus software applications currently available can't see that WebWatcher is running!

Missing is the word all now maybe the raw disk readers & DKOM brigade if they know the code or look in the right places will uncover the truth behind the sales pitch.

Firewall bypassing is not a new trick,Rustock's & some Haxdoor's have this functionability for some time nowWink

The software probaly dose have stealth capability but then again average joe is not going to throw forensic tools(RKU,IceSword,Gmer) at the system that has it loaded....now if only there was a free trial....

Here ya goWink

I think they make you buy it first , no trial , just money back.
There site says
Their invisability modual was developed by former NSA programmers.
There are not any visiable file to be seen.
I would think hidden files would be rootkit activity wouldn't it?

Click on the chat live with agent tab on top right and ask away LOL

Here is one review on the product.

I didn't stay too long because I was busy with other things.

It appears to be about 100 bucks. I like the part of having a tech remotly installing it for you LOL

Here is a funny one.

You can download Webwatcher and evaluate it for 5 big days and get your money back.

Here is a conversation between me & the online tech

Deo: When WebWatcher is installed properly, the software won't be detected or disabled by Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware software. We'll even install the software for you free of charge over the Internet.

Would a program like Rootkitunhooker see it?

Deo: it wouldnt, our software runs in pure stealth mode

you are rest assured that our software always has a way to get around anti-virus/anti-spyware software without the need of uninstalling them

What do ya think EP?
