Thanks.  That answers the question then.  I guess I did not read carefully enough. :-)

It would have been nice, but I can live without it...

Hi SBattaglia,

From Windows Internals Book:
The Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit includes the book in e-book form, while the stand-alone does not.

AFAICR, various chapters of Windows Internals have been made available in PDF form; one is available on the referenced page.

Good morning.

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but since this thread is about the book...

I've been enjoying that a lot of the Microsoft Press books come with a pdf copy.  It makes it easier to read while traveling (or anywhere, since these books are unwieldy), and I like being able to do the exercises without having to balance a book on a small desk next to my computer.

Has such a thing ever been available for the 4th edition?  I've found no evidence of it so far.  I would really appreciate it if there were and I could somehow prove to you that I own the hard copy.

Thanks.

Fixed already in the 5th edition (and in regard to the previous post, yes we are covering the enhancements to use the TSC to account for thread clock cycles).

And I'm going to report a doc bug on timeBeginPeriod on that bogus statement you pointed out.

I have added a new comment on page 344 concerning the kernel variable PsPrioritySeparation which is actually (mis)spelt PsPrioritySeperation in the Kernel!Disapprove (it is also referenced on page 351 and 353)

To illustrate this:
lkd> db pspriorityseparation l1
Couldn't resolve error at 'pspriorityseparation '
lkd> db pspriorityseperation l1
