I would think that regardless of the utility. A manual modification of the boot.ini would be required to go from SCSI to IDE. I could be wrong. I've never used the software. If that's the case couldn't you add the VHD as a second drive to a exsisting VM so you can access the boot.ini file?

Yes I did  I am going to try to create through VMware convertor.  that will let me add IDE drivers  and then I can convert to vhd with winimage.  I will post tomorrow after I try this

Did you add the disk as an IDE disk to the VM? That's required to boot a disk2vhd-created VHD.

I have a XP SP3 machine that I want to clone to run on Hyper V server.  The 73 GB HD is SCSI.   After I get the file created with the disktovhd utility,  I try to boot the vm through hyper V  and I get a bsod with stop error 0x7b.  Is what I am doing even possible or do I need to use SCVVM somehow.  I am just testing Hyper V right now and really can't make the System Center time or money investment.  This is very easy to do on ESX server so ..........
