Further investigation turned out, bginfo works only correctly under 1024 x 768. Overlapping at higher resolution, cropping at lower resolution...
Example of upper right corner, screen at 1280 x 1024

Actually no. I can reproduce this behavior by just starting bginfo.exe, applying the default content to the right edge and get two overlapping images. Interestingly this does not happen by using a RDP session to a terminal server using the same resolution or logging to to that XP client using RDP. It is a console phenomenon. Somehow I believe it happens in conjunction with the intel GMA driver, but it is hard to proof.

Hi PEAK,

Is it possible BgInfo is being launched twice?

Since recently bginfo displays the background twice. It is only visible on screens larger 1024 x 768 and when position is at right and/or lower screen border.
Testing turned out that bginfo is positioning within that strange 1024 x 768 range at a higher layer (or later) and(!) outside at the real border as well.
It seems like screen resolution is retrieved wrong, but why is it displayed twice then?
Latest bginfo, default bgi, etc. no changes. Not limited to a single PC.
Pretty strange. May be someone found a solution to that.
