Not sure, we have the same understanding... What I was looking for was not a hot key to activate PE, but a hot key, that tells PE to suspend the process with the highest CPU usage. Unfortunately, this happens now and then. And it's hard to do anything - even starting PE. So this feature would help a lot! Thanx!

It would also need to be activate-able from outside PE... otherwise kinda useless for your situation.
Maybe windows-shift-escape (shift escape would work too, but someone might have thought of that... then again they could have done the windows one too...) as the hot key (since you can open PE/Task manager with ctrl-shift escape...)?

Hello Sysinternals,
hello board,

a situation a minute ago brought me to the idea, that it would be great to be able to define a hotkey in Process Explorer to suspend the most active process.

Would be great in situation where a process runs amok and nearly freezes the machine, because of the heavy CPU load. Today it took me about 5 minutes or more to activate my PE (ok, running with idle prio) and to shut down firefox. :-(

In this situation I would have loved to press that magic hot key and freeze firefox to be able to kill him, or check what's the problem.

Thanx,
rela great tool!!

Regards
