I have discovered something concerning.   I have an older version of psexec.exe, version 2.11.0.0.   This .EXE works fine on our Windows 7 x86 machines.  I then downloaded the lasted version of psexec.exe, version 2.20.0.0.  When I try to run this on our same Windows 7 x86 machines I get the following error:

Error communicating with PsExec service on CCLAB2:
No process is on the other end of the pipe.

Why?  Thank god I kept this older version since we're using it in scripts etc... in our environment.   How come the new version does not work the same?

Thank you.

Hi, the solution for this porblemis simple. You define for each version of psexec a separate name about  the optional parameter -r.
example:
(2.11)
psexec -r psexecsvr211 ...

(2.2)
psexec -r psexecsvr220 ...

About this way will created 2 different service on the remote pc with the defined name (-r)
