If you create a hard link to folder with backslash at the end of <junction target> directory, it will be created but not work. For example, if you create hard link to "x:\Proba" folder in this way:

junction "x:\Test" "x:\Proba\"

you will have "Test" folder which will lead nowhere.

Command

junction "x:\Test" "x:\Proba"

will create working hard link.


P.S. As forum search engine doesn't work, there in no way to find posts about same topic.
