Hi, we currently have an issue with Outlook in that it sometimes starts flashing. Usually when someone is typing in an email. We are running Outlook 2013 on a Virtual Desktop (Citrix VDI).
The user can be working on a brand new draft email, a draft reply, or reading a received email when Outlook starts flashing. If you then close that email down it stops flashing, but sometimes the only way to stop the flashing is to close Outlook right down. If you open the email up it starts flashing again. If you close the email down and open another email no flashing. If you close Outlook and then re-open Outlook and then open the email that was causing the flashing previously it does not flash again.

There doesn't seem to be one type of email that causes the flashing either. Some have attachments, some don't, some have images in and then some don't etc.

I have noticed that when the issue occur Outlook's processor usage spikes between 50% - 80%.

I suspect it is an Add-In causing the issue, so I am going through the laborious task of disabled 1 add-in at a time to see when the issue stops occurring for affected users. We several add-ins so it is a very long winded way of troubleshooting the issue.

Is it possible to see exactly what is causing the issue when it happens? Is there a quicker way to troubleshoot this issue when the Sysinternal tools?

Ok I have just captured some logs and it looks like outlook.exe is in a continuous loop trying to access video registry keys.

Is it maybe a faulty video driver or do you think it would more likely be a faulty add-in still?
